Why do you work at Fairhaven?

When I was a student, I experienced the loss of both grandparents. Even though I grew up in a Christian home, this experience caused me to question my faith, and my youth leaders played a huge part in my story during this time. From this experience, I came to realize that God was calling me to work with students, to provide a place where they could ask questions and be themselves during the difficult changes that happen in the teen years. My passion is that students can come to Student Ministries and find a place they can be themselves, ask questions and grow in their own personal relationship with Christ. And as a parent myself, I have a heart for their families and want them to know that Fairhaven is here to partner with them and support them!

Your faith

Following Jesus is all I have ever known. I can’t imagine life without the hope that He is in every detail of my life. One of my favorite bible passages is Proverbs 16:9, “For man makes the plans but God directs his steps.” As a planner and organizer, it is often easy for me to plan my day, weeks, months and years, but this verse reminds me that God is in the daily details of my life and I need to trust His plan!

Bible verse

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:4-6
