Why do you work at Fairhaven?

Fairhaven provides the opportunity to fulfill the calling and to use the gifts that God has in my life. To be able to work with such a loving and competent staff is a rare privilege. It is exciting to be working in a way that has an eternal impact.

Your faith

My parents taught me at a young age that Jesus loves me, made beautiful birds and flowers, and wants people to have faith in Him. I accepted Christ as my savior when I was eight years old. I felt a call to ministry in high school. Like many people who grew up in a Christian home, I had to work through significant doubts during college and seminary. Spiritual growth came through hanging around church events and significant Christian mentors and friends.

My faith has grown and developed in the agonies and ecstasies of over three decades of professional ministry. However, the greatest arena for learning spiritually important lessons for me has been in marriage and parenting. I will need the grace of God forever! He gives life, peace, and hope. Wow!

Bible verse

“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11
